What's New for 2023?
The current seventh-generation 2023 Hyundai Elantra N was treated to a facelift in April and continues to serve as the performance model of the Elantra range.
The facelifted Elantra N now features a more similar front and rear end to the standard Elantra, along with upgrades to its safety and interior features. A new exclusive Exotic Green exterior color is also available to buyers.
Interior, Comfort, and Cargo
The dramatically styled cabin with its cockpit-like appearance complements the sporty character of the Elantra N. This atmosphere is further enhanced by the fitment of N Line sport bucket seats with aggressive bolsters that secure the driver and front passengers during cornering maneuvers. Race car-inspired foot pedals and N Line badges help to complete the interior's sporty look and feel.
The Elantra N's seating is finished in black leather trim and Alcantara microsuede, with the front seats being heated and the N Line badging being illuminated. The driver's comfort is taken care of with a six-way adjustable driver seat, including height adjustment. Also fitted is a four-way adjustable front passenger seat with slide and recline features, helping to ensure passenger comfort.
The N Line leather-wrapped steering wheel, adjustable with tilt and telescopic positioning, includes integrated audio and cruise controls on the wheel. Adding to the sporty aesthetic, the leather-wrapped shift knob completes the look.
Key driver convenience features include a proximity key with push button start and an all-digital dashboard. The all-digital dashboard includes a large 10.25-inch digital gauge cluster display and a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment display, both angled slightly towards the driver.
Additional convenience features also include:
- Dual automatic temperature control
- Power windows with driver auto-down/up
- Integrated shift light
- Remote keyless entry system with alarm
- Alloy door sill plates
- Sunroof on automatic models
With ‌99.4 cubic inches of interior volume, the Elantra N offers a roomy cabin. The rear passenger bench seat features a folding seat back with fixed center and outer headrests. The trunk volume is 14.2 cubic feet, which can easily accommodate a family's holiday luggage.

2023 Hyundai Elantra Exterior
The Elantra N, with a 107.1-inch wheelbase and a length of 184.1 inches, features a stiffer chassis. It is more rigid than the standard Elantra range due to reinforcements across the unibody construction.
A sporty-looking rear chassis brace finished in red is visible in the trunk for all to see. These upgrades mean better handling and control, the very reason the Elantra N exists.
The edgy design elevates the Elantra N above the mundane sedans seen on US roads, and key highlights on the exterior include:
- Unique N Line design front fascia
- N Line side moldings in red
- LED headlights
- LED Daytime running lights (DRL)
- Side mirrors with turn-signal indicators
- LED tail lights
- N Line rear wing spoiler
- The red-trimmed rear diffuser
- 19-inch alloys fitted with 245/35 Michelin Pilot Sport 4 S summer tires
- Large bore exhaust outlets
Performance and Powertrain
Any car that professes to be a sports car must offer strong performance, and in this department, the Elantra N shines.
The 2023 Hyundai Elantra N makes use of a turbocharged 2.0-liter DOHC 16-valve four-cylinder gasoline direct injection (GDI) engine that produces a grin-inducing 276 horsepower at 5500 - 6000 rpm and 289 pound-feet of torque at 2100 - 4700 rpm. This impressive performance is thanks to its overboost feature, which Hyundai calls N Grin Shift (available with Eco, Normal, Sport, N and Custom modes.)
The turbocharged engine is mated with a standard 6-speed manual transmission with a rev-matching function; all this power goes to the front wheels through the standard N-corner carving differential (eLSD) drive system. An N 8-speed wet dual-clutch transmission with paddle shifters is the only option box that buyers can tick on the Elantra N.
A trick variable exhaust valve system adds to the sporty character and sounds emanating from the Elantra N.
Safety and Driver-Assistance Features
Performance and power mean very little without the ability to rein in the fun when things get a bit ragged out on the road. A comprehensive list of safety and driver-assistance technologies is featured on the Elantra N to help ensure that the driver and passengers are kept safely out of harm's way.

Fuel Economy and MPG

For models equipped with the standard manual transmission, it achieves 22 mpg in the city and 31 mpg on the highway. In contrast, models fitted with the eight-speed automatic transmission show a slight decrease in efficiency, with 20 mpg city and 30 mpg highway ratings. These figures reflect the Elantra N's balance between high-performance driving and fuel economy, offering a choice between transmission types based on driver preference and driving conditions.

The 2023 Elantra N is available at a starting MSRP of $32,900 for models equipped with the standard six-speed manual transmission.
With such an impressive list of standard features already covered above, buyers of the Elantra N need only choose the exterior color of their car from a range of five available colors: Phantom Black, Cyber Gray, Performance Blue, White, and Intense Blue.
